About Us

To be completely honest, we met two years before we met for real. The Cheesecake Factory, Katie’s birthday, her date and his two friends. There’s recollection of Keith buying me an overpriced Cosmo, but fireworks? Not so much.

Two years later, Katie married her Cheesecake date, Brooks. I was maid-of-honor for the wedding and Keith, a groomsman. Flash forward to fireworks. Okay, fireworks eventually.

Keith tried to chat me up at the rehearsal dinner, with no luck. And at the reception, Keith tried and tried to get me to dance, again to no avail. I couldn’t say yes, I was so focused on everything involved with making sure Katie was having the time of her life that I didn’t realize I was about to embark on the biggest adventure of my own. But there was Hannah in the wings urging him not to stop asking and trying to convince me to slow down and get on the dance floor. Thank God for Hannah! At the end of the long, wonderful night I worked up the nerve to give him my phone number. A much more memorable meeting, complete with those fireworks everyone talks about, soon followed.

And in New Orleans, when he asked for my hand for the long dance? You can bet I said yes.
